  • Message from the AD

Dear Parents and Players,
The 2010 football season is fast approaching. Expectations are extremely high as we seek to defend our District Championship. If you are not attending the strength and conditioning camp, it is not too late to begin. We need you to show up on August 9th in excellent shape. Attached to this letter is a calendar for July and August, a TD Booster Club membership form and a football program ad letter.
Looking at the calendar, it shows the upcoming camps for freshmen football players. Try to attend if possible. It will give us a head start to the season. The calendar also shows the dates for the senior led Voluntary workouts. These 5 workouts will give you a last chance opportunity to get in shape or maintain what you gained over the summer. Finally, practices begin on August 9th at 6:00. Please report to your locker room no later than 5:30 to dress. These practices are mandatory! Any unexcused absences from practice can result in your removal on the first day of school. All incoming freshmen and juniors must have a new physical in Doc Moore’s possession by the first practice.
We would like for all of our families to join the TD Booster Club. What a great way to be involved in your sons High School development and be a part of something special. The membership form is attached. In order to receive a TD Booster Club scholarship at the end of the school year, a parent must be a paid member.
If you are interested in placing an individual ad in the program the pricing is included. It can be as simple as “good luck Luke #8, we love you.” The TD Booster club has been working extremely hard this summer to create a first class football program.
We encourage you to check out bastropbears.org daily. Important information is posted there with more to come as we get closer to practice time. There are also instructions to signing up for a free twitter account. We post on our Bastrop twitter account frequently.
We provide all equipment for our BHS football players except playing shoes. Please purchase black shoes for the 2010 season. We have partnered with Georgetown Sporting and created a portal on bastropbears.org. From our site you can purchase several different versions of shoes, clothing and gloves. These prices match the pricing I receive at the High School. Please check it out. Items can be picked up in their store or shipped to your house. These items are available to our BMS athletes as well. If you plan on purchasing game shoes through the site, please do so ASAP to insure delivery.
Reserved season tickets are going quickly and we expect to sell them out. Please purchase these tickets in the main BHS office area. We will be playing two live televised games as well as live internet feeds of our games. What a great opportunity to showcase our program.
Parents, please take advantage of the different forms of communication that we have for you. As a parent myself, I understand the frustration of not getting information from my kids. We work extremely hard to provide information to you. Every letter I send home is also posted on the Perry page on the sight.
Our staff has been working extremely hard this summer in order to have another successful year. We have restored the Tradition in Bastrop. Now let’s do more!!

Go Bears!
